Torodney Prevot is going to be special....

  • Just thought I'd post this highlight link. Prevot has me pretty amped. He is nasty off the edge and he'll be able to make an impact at OLB right away imo and after he can put on 20+ lbs or so he will be our edge rusher. So happy we snatched Prevot from Troy and Aggie.

  • I've watched his highlights more times than any other signed player for a reason. They are so boss!

  • He was one people felt was an A&M lock. News on him got pretty quiet, and I thought maybe that might mean he was trying to avoid backlash from Texans (Like Addison). Not sure if that was the case, but it was a HUGE surprise to get him, and I think he's going to be a BEAST. Rad will get some weight on him, and he'll really help us at the drop end position

  • He will be a big time player once he packs on the weight. Excited for him.

No, he wasn't trying to avoid backlash he was just trying to figure it all out and it came down to a signing day decision. What really helped Oregon land Prevot was Hall decommitting from UW and signing with A&M, which really swung things in Oregon's favor. I agree completely about Prevot on everything else though. The thing that stands out to me is his effort on the field and the apparent intensity that he appears to play with. Which IMO makes him look a lot like Dion out there. I'm guessing that he also trains as hard as he plays, so it won't surprise me to see him show up around 225lbs this June and then hopefully the S&C staff could maybe throw another 7 lbs or so on him in the summer? He's going to be a great one

  • He's so fast. And he gets off blocks no problems. I feel like he could even play SAM but as a Drop he'll be unstoppable.

MBV, who do you think plays this year out of the true freshmen?

    Natty_Dread

  • This kid closes strong. Great tackling hands. Rips the ball out, or rips down the carrier. With the size & swiftness of Pac-12 dual-threat QBS (namely Hundley @UCLA, Hogan @Stanford) we will NEED our tacklers to have kung-fu death-grips rather than just laying wood. Prevot's got that vice-grip ability already, can't wait to see him get even stronger in his lower body to go with those long arms and lightning moves.

Hunt, Tyner, Prevot, maybe Seisay and maybe one of the WR's. It's tough to gauge as some guys just look like killers on film then show up and need quite a bit of work. Then other guys look ok on film and then show up and are really impressive. I think the first 3 for sure, I also think the Ducks will NEED those guys to play. Someone above talked about Prevot being a sure tackler, and I agree. The thing that I really like about Prevot is he finishes plays and has that knack of chopping at the ball when he gets a sack and creating a TO. You can tell that it's something that was preached to him in HS and it's something that he really focuses on out there. Sacks are great, but Sack and Fumble is even better

That's a great comparison. Good call. Extremely athletic, very fast, great mechanics and technique, but slightly undersized. I definitely think he'll start off at OLB and then get up to around 225-230ish and then move up to DE, but he'll ultimately play as an OLB in the NFL imo.

He'll be am undersized DE in college, but with his speed off the edgr you want a kid like him on the line. Plus he seems to play bigger then he is. The NFL opinion is if he plays up to his potential which I think he should because it appears he's a hard worker and a field scholar.

  • I'm high on Prevot, really high, but if he plays as a true freshman (especially if he plays significant time), then he must be pure dynamite. I say this because the DL is one of our strengths this year and we have a lot of depth.

    The future is looking Rosy

The thing is he doesn't play D line, he plays OLB. I agree KOD, I think down the road we could see him as a DE in the Radar front, with guys like Hoiem and Tyrell Robinson coming off the edges too, especially on obvious passing downs

Prevot's game looks very polished, I agree. I love his film.

Looking at Prevot vs. Hoeim, who committed the other day, I get the distinct impression that Prevot is just way more quick and way more fast and has way more moves.
I think Prevot comes in at OLB or Drop, but Hoiem just looks like a DE to me.

How do you know this, did you personally talk to him so you can most assuredly make this comment. I find it so amusing that you know everything about all thing's related to Football! "Sorry but you don't." OH YEAH He really doesn't look anything like Dion, because He's 6-7 and Prevot 6-3, So this isnt even close.

For what it's worth, Prevot himself was interviewed after the signing day announcement and he, Prevot, stated that he didn't know who he'd be signing with until the the announcement. In fact, he said he chose Oregon as he walked out to the table, as Oregon "felt right."

How do you know what I know or don't know? I know that Hall going to A&M had a significant impact on him coming to Oregon and that he also really likes Coach Pellum and the way the staff used the athletes on D. He sold him on playing the Drop and after seeing Dion getting so much pub, Prevot felt like it was a great fit for him. And why did you quote yourself in your post when trying to attack me?? Maybe you should spend more time in an English class than trying to tear down my posts. I have never claimed to know everything about football, quite the contrary, but I do know that this is true and I wouldn't post it if it wasn't true. I wasn't trying to belittle the post I responded to, I was just passing along the info that I was told. If that bugs you in some way, then IMO that's a you problem not a me problem
