Great news. I wish Chip the best, at the same time hope he regrets leaving at some point. How great would it be to have him visit Helf at the Natty next year after his team is eliminated.

Tyner is all class.
I love how he's stayed with the Ducks from day one. His commitment to the team is what college football is all about IMO. Nice to see a kid stay local so he can star for the home team and all that. Really excited to have a Duck like that on the team next year, hope he crushes it.

Best day of news for Oregon football and recruiting all year. Helfrich gets introduced as HC, and Tyner solidifies his commitment with Oregon for good.

I don't mean I always go for the classic local boy goes to local school and succeeds crap, I just sayin' that you never see that at Oregon, mostly because Oregon is non-traditional in all sorts of ways, as a state and a school, so being kinda rare at UO, it's cool to see.

I was just talking with a co-worker and UO Alum on Friday about the dearth of local players who become good enough to contribute at Oregon. To have a prospect like Tyner committed to the Ducks just adds an additional element of excitement to the class and an element of anticipation to the upcoming season.
Its like Kevin Love with football but the 5* player changes the script and stays home. I can't wait to see Tyner accomplish great things at Oregon.

I agree it would have been great to have had Ndamukong Suh go to Oregon but not Oregon State.:)

If all local guys stayed home we probably wouldn't have much of a program since most of our players come from California or elsewhere out of state. When there is a PSA with the talent that Tyner has it does feel good to see him stay in Oregon. Had to smile at being "non-traditional" because it is certainly true.

J-hop, "the entire Oregon staff" is misleading and would be an NCAA violation. The limit is 7 at any point in time. Recruits might feel like "all" of the coaches are visiting them, but they cannot.
