Update A USC assistant coach has announced Omar Oraby has been cleared to play and will be in the lineup Saturday for USC. This bodes very well for Oregon and their chances for Arsalan Kazemi as noted below. I'd wager an announcement could be made in the near future.
------------------------------------------------------------------
I am told today that Oregon sent their waiver to Rice to have senior forward Arsalan Kazemi deemed eligible right away instead of having to sit out a season. That response from Rice should be due back shortly and then allowing the NCAA to make a decision.
USC also has a Rice transfer and I am told the two petitions are tied together. One won't be approved while the other is. Either both get cleared or they both don't. A decision could be made in the next few days.
Oregon opens play Saturday night against Northern Arizona at MKA with tip at 4:30 PM and broadcast on the Pac-12 Network.
